Health Benefits of Yoga
People have been practicing yoga for over 5,000 years. Known for its positive benefits on the mind and body, yoga can be used to enhance strength, mental well-being, and overall health. There have been many modifications and variations to techniques through hundreds of years of practice. For example, Hatha yoga is one of the more gentle forms of yoga for beginners, which is what our classes are practicing right now. We built our Goat Yoga brand on the fact that HGLY wants to improve the lives of those within the community. Mental health issues are coming more into the light every day within communities. We believe self-care is crucial to any being, whether they suffer from mental health issues or not.

 Animal Integrated Work Outs
Animal therapy has proven very helpful.  Human-animal interaction releases Oxytocin, which is commonly referred to as “the love hormone.” It reduces stress and induces feelings of happiness when released during bonding activities. Furthermore, petting and playing with animals boosts serotonin and dopamine in the brain and decreases cortisol levels. Serotonin and dopamine are responsible for impulse control and mood moderation. Lower levels of these chemicals results in an increased risk of depression and risk-taking behaviors. The hormone Cortisol is released in response to stress. Goat yoga combines these effects with yoga for a double dose of relaxation. Some health benefits from goat yoga include enhanced mood, lower blood pressure, and heightened flexibility. *

What Can I Expect at Goga?
Our goats are very social and people-oriented. They will be sure to make their rounds and say "Hi!" They do play with other goats by head-butting and jumping.  They do not head butt humans and they will never purposely hurt you. They do like to climb and may climb on you, you are more than welcome to give them a gentle shove off of you, but be aware goats are stubborn and sometimes their hooves can be uncomfortable based on your sensitivity. If you have injuries or sensitivities that require you to be extra careful, we will do our best to accommodate you but cannot guarantee the goats do not jump on you. Take this into consideration before you decide to attend a class.
Goats have different moods for the day, just like humans. One class they may be hyper and playful, another class they may be calm and want to snuggle.

We also want to increase awareness of the importance of self-care, even if it's just the occasional Goat Yoga class. Goats are also amazing, loving creatures. We want to spread the love for goats and show the community how special these animals truly are.

#FutureGoals
Happy Goat Lucky Yoga is currently aspiring to add events that benefit several different members of the community. We would eventually like to add private events, along with children based yoga classes, charity events, and discounts for active duty military and veterans. We will update the website with these events as they are created, but if you have any input or ideas, feel free to contact us!
Private events are currently available at request, this could be with or without yoga. If you are wanting to celebrate a birthday or have a work event surrounded by loveable goats, we are more than happy to help you set that up!
